Hi Tim.

May I ask you a few questions?
I'm an industrial design student from Israel, just completed building my CNC mill, and built an extruder as well.

Here's my questions:

1) I have a 4 Axis stepper driver (similar to gecko, but cheap..) - I connected the 4th axis to my extruder, will this work? and how?

2) I bought a max 6675 breake-out board + type K thermistor. I also have a nichrome wire - how do I connect everything toghther? (I do I heat up the nichrome?) - do you have any code for the arduino?

3) How do you feel to have the most beautiful DIY 3d printer? :)

Thank you

Nophead, I'm glad to hear that. I've already touched the bare heated metal twice accidentally - not fun.

Hi Tim,
I find that with the bed covered in something like Kapton it is not too dangerous if you touch it. You can pull away before it burns you, presumably because it is not as conductive as metal.

The same is true of of my extruder when it is covered by PTFE.
